Dear Cielo, Guillermo, Pamela and Daniel,

It was a pleasure to meet you on Wednesday. Let’s see if the rest of the students show up next week!

As I told you in class, next week we are going to talk about friendship. What makes a good friend in your opinion?  Try completing this sentence with your own ideas:

A friend is someone who …

And remember your homework! Bring a picture of your best friend and get ready to tell the class about him/her.

I look forward to receiving your comments.

Carla

    Hi,
Please, could anyone tell me if the following sentence is true or false?:
When you want to emphasize the expression “I went there” you can say
    “I did go there”.
    Thanks.
Ah!, for me a friend is someone who always answer my questions.
    See you.

Yes Guillermo, you can only use an auxiliary in an affirmative sentence when you want to emphasize an idea as in the example above. Then, of course, the auxiliary must be in the correct tense and the main verb in the infinitive.

Thanks for completing the sentence about friendship and correcting yourself as well. Way to go Guillermo!

    Hello Carla,

last night I had a dream… in english!! I’m crazy. Is it possible to learn by taking a long nap? It would be a very comfortable way to learn english.

I want to ask you a question but I don’t know how to ask you. I’ll try.
Reciently, I’ve discovered that the verb “to get ” is sometimes used before another verb in order to change its meaning. For example:
She used to play with dolls. I’ll get used to work hard.
You lost your pencil. I got lost in Bs. As.
I married Danisa. I get married today.
Am I wrong? Would you mind give me more examples?
    Thanks. Good-by.
